ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Cecelia – a warm, empathic and compassionate therapist and clinical supervisor based in Manchester.
I’ve always had a deep interest in mental health and human connection, which led me to study psychology at university and later complete a Master’s in Psychotherapy. Mental health has been at the heart of my professional journey for over a decade. I’ve worked across voluntary, charity, and private sectors, supporting individuals with a wide range of experiences and needs.
I’m passionate about making high-quality therapy accessible and inclusive. I believe everyone has the right to access mental health support and to feel seen, heard, and respected in the process. My clinical experience spans trauma services, oncology support, employee assistance programmes, private healthcare, and community counselling charities. Alongside therapeutic work, I’ve held clinical leadership and management roles and currently work as a Clinical Lead within a mental health charity.
I care deeply about ongoing development and clinical excellence. I’m committed to regular training, reflective supervision, and staying responsive to the evolving needs of my clients. I have completed additional training in EMDR and trauma-focused approaches, and I’m a qualified critical incident debriefer with experience supporting individuals after distressing events.
At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should support you in finding and embracing your authentic self. Authenticity is something I also value deeply in the therapy relationship. I strive to be human and real in the room, and I invite the same from you, at a pace that feels right. This commitment informed my own client-centred research on authenticity, which has been published: Client-centred therapeutic relationship conditions and authenticity: a prospective study
As a clinical supervisor, I work with therapists, trainees, and professionals in emotionally demanding roles. My supervisory practice is collaborative and reflective, grounded in the Seven-Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet), blending curiosity, collaboration, and appropriate guidance, and focusing on supporting you through both the challenges and joys of your work.
I’m a registered member of the BACP and a fully accredited professional member of the NCPS, working in line with both ethical frameworks. Whether we’re working together in therapy, supervision, or consultation, I strive to offer a space that’s safe, collaborative, and grounded in care.
